Catching up with the World

Hey everyone, hope you all had great Holidays.  We took a fast (and slick) trip to Colorado to spend it with Kirby's parents. It was beautiful in the mountains. We just did a lot of resting and family time. It was great to unplug. Seems like that happens for us best when we are in Estes. It could be the lack of oxygen that encourages us to slow down while we are there. Ha ha.

Things are going well on the farm.  All the chickens have made it. We have 26 of the feathered friends. They still go out everyday, but they refuse to free range.  There are skid marks about a foot long at the entrance to the yard.  They mad rush me for the door, but when their feet hit the snow, the backtrack about as fast as they went running forward-to funny.  We are getting about a dozen of eggs each day. The kids want to have a stand at the farmers market in Johnston this year so they can sell eggs. It will be fun until the first storm blows in and all our stuff blows to Jester State Park. However, I am anxiously awaiting my seed cataloges so we can start planning our garden. I get one from Baker Creek Seeds and one from The Seed Savers Exchange. Both companies feature heirloom seeds. We grew some really funky stuff last year. The kid's favorite was the red popcorn that we grew.  It was a big hit.

The office is back to standard hours of operation.  It is still decorated for Christmas, but that is coming down this week.  I am thinking of redecorating, shhhh...don't tell Kirby. :)  We have some great lectures coming up, check out our website http://www.genglerchiro.com/ to see the schedule.

Have a wonderful and postive day.

Mall & Halloween

Well, it was a busy weekend for a lot of people, ourselves included. We tried something new this year. For Begger's Night we decided to hand out candy from our booth in Valley West Mall. It was amazing to see all of those people! There we some fantastic costumes as well. I am glad that there was some place dry and safe for the kids to come, as it was a nasty night outside.

Care packages

Good morning,
The items are starting to roll in! I am already thinking about all the custom forms that I will fill out this year! I hope it is more than last year.

Keep in mind, we are looking for items that are fun. We want the soldiers to have some things to keep them entertained in their free time.

Thanks,
Kelly

Soldier Care Packages

Soldier Care Packages

This is our 5th year of collecting items for our soldiers who are currently serving oversees. We started this project when we lived in Kentucky 5 years ago. We were supporting our local national guard group. This is an activity we do as a family-everyone helps.

If you would like to donate nonperishable, non-pork snack items, small electronic games or mp-3s, cds, cards, poker chips, books (anything fun) we will pack them up, pay the postage and send them on the way. I am always excited to add cards, photos, drawings and sketches. My kids do some artwork that I like to stick in each package.

Currently we do not have any addresses of anyone, sooo, if you have an address you would like to share with us, we would be happy to mail a package to them.
